about

LOVE: A FIG TREE was one of the first songs the band worked on 4 years ago but hadn't been finished or recorded till now. Katie King wrote the lyrics and melody in a hammock in an Eldert loft Lydia, Frank and Yuko made sense of it. This song was originally worked on in the Messerole recording studios in Brooklyn as well as room 710. The bridge was added on Helioscope's Arizona tour in 2015. It was finally recorded in Portland, Oregon in an attic while Ivan was at the park swinging his heart out. It is a reoccurring true story.

lyrics

you could say that I let you go
a widow to a king
if letting go was a fruit
and love was a tree

but we all know the story
you stole yourself away
like a baby on a rapid
like a dog in a fight

you could say that I let you go
like i had control
of the humanless riot
that you call your glass soul

but we all know the story
I clung on for dear life
a baby on a rapid
a dog in a fight

and our sex addicted diets left stains for weeks
on other people's cheeks we left no grain or gold
we left no children to hold and

when i say that i let you go
it's calling something grey gold.

let you go
like i had a choice
in the curated fantasies
that you kept for white noise

but we all know the story yeah
I held on the way
like baby on a rocket
like all the women who stay

and our sex addicted diets left stains for weeks
on other people's cheeks we left no grain or gold
we left no children to hold and

when i say that I let you go
it's called something grey gold

I'm putting feelers out on all sides
I'm feeling tingly and not right
I'm putting feelers out on all sides
I'm feeling tingly and not right

x3

you could say that I let you go
yeah wouldn't that be nice
but as lucky as I blew them
yeah you still held the dice

oh we we all know the story

you could say
